A team from the Department of Accounting at the King Talal School of Business Technology at Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) has advanced to the regional semi-finals for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) in the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Research Challenge for the 2025–2026 academic year.
The team qualified for the regional stage after securing first place among Jordanian universities.
The winning team will compete against distinguished teams from across Europe—marking the first time a team from the university has reached this advanced level of competition. Their qualification comes alongside teams from American University of Beirut and Qatar University in the competition organized by the CFA Institute.
The team includes students Jana Attieh, Saif Al-Hassan, Massa Al-Karadsha, Nadine Rizqallah, and Yasmeen Alian, under the supervision of Prof. Modar Abdullatif.
PSUT President, Wejdan Abu Elhaija, expressed pride in the students and their mentors for their outstanding achievements at both local and international levels. She emphasized that this success aligns with the vision of HRH Sumaya bint El Hassan, Chair of the Board of Trustees, to enhance the quality of education in business disciplines and to prepare graduates capable of innovation and competitiveness in evolving business environments.
Prof. Abu Elhaija noted that this accomplishment reflects the excellence of PSUT students and faculty, as well as the strength of its applied academic system. It also underscores PSUT’s approach to preparing highly qualified graduates who can compete in specialized regional and international forums by strengthening practical skills and aligning educational outcomes with labor market demands—thereby reinforcing the university’s standing locally, regionally, and globally in financial analysis and investment.
The Dean of the King Talal School of Business Technology, Dr. Adiy Tweissi, explained that the school operates under a vision centered on academic excellence, the development of practical skills, and aligning educational outputs with labor market needs and global professional institutions.
The winning team presented a comprehensive research report that included a full financial analysis of a selected company. This encompassed an examination of financial statements, sector analysis, risk assessment, and the application of financial valuation models, culminating in an evidence-based investment recommendation. This achievement qualified the team to represent Jordan at the regional level and reflects the advanced academic and professional capabilities of the university’s students in finance and investment.
It is worth noting that the CFA Institute Research Challenge 2026 in Jordan is one of the most prominent academic and professional competitions in the field of financial analysis and investment. It combines theoretical study with practical application in a setting that simulates real financial markets. The competition is organized locally by CFA Society Jordan under the supervision of the global institute, with participation and support from several financial institutions.
